Create an Organisational Learning and Development Plan
Referring to the organisation’s business plan, identify the skills, knowledge and behaviours that your organisation needs to develop over the next 12 months.
Reflect on any audits, monitoring or evaluation you have done over the last 12 months. Think about any issues that could be resolved if some or all of your staff were to:
- gain knowledge or have better access to the information they need
- improve their existing skills or develop new ones
- change or adapt their current attitudes and behaviours or apply positive behaviours more consistently
Consider your business plan for the year ahead.
Does your workforce have the right skills mix to deliver the business plan and to cover for one another in the event of staff being off sick or leaving the organisation?
Think about any new projects and activities or any new funding that might become available.
Does your organisation have sufficient capacity to benefit from these opportunities in terms of having the right skills and expertise in the right quantity, place and time?
