Create Individual Learning and Development Plans for all staff
Staff discuss individual and organisational learning and development needs and priorities with their supervisor/line manager to create an agreed plan for the next 12 months.
Discussions about individual learning and development needs will normally take place within a support and supervision session or an annual appraisal meeting, although line managers may wish to set up separate meetings for this, particularly for the first round of Advice Skills Academy planning.
Prior to the discussion, line managers may want to reflect on how well the individual is meeting the competency requirements of their current role to help any discussions around their self-assessment.
During the meeting, the individual staff member and their line manager work together to explore options for meeting any learning and development needs identified and come up with an agreed plan for the next 12 months using Planning Template 3
